Over the last 10 years Ensoft has recruited a team of 40 developers from the UK's top universities. Our recruitment process is designed to make it as painless as we can for you to apply. But the most important question is whether you should apply and whether Ensoft is the right place for you to start your career.

Please note that it is our policy NOT to use recruitment agencies.

To help you decide, I have summarized some of the benefits of working in Ensoft and then outlined what you need to apply.

If you are interested, then please read the information we provide and find out more about us at our autumn presentations or at the careers fairs we will be attending. Finally, if you think that Ensoft might be the place for you, then please apply. We are not bureaucratic - you only need to send us a CV and attend one interview session.

Managing Director, Ensoft Limited

So what are the benefits of a career in Ensoft?

Like any other successful software company Ensoft offers substantial bonuses, profit share pension and a raft of other benefits. This will substantially increase your remuneration. However, the starting salary, is the most tangible commitment an employer can make can make to graduate recruits - and the starting salary of £33,000 shows the level of our commitment to our employees.

While sharing in Ensoft's commercial success is great, the job itself should provide greatest motivation for applying to Ensoft.

There is the challenge of working on leading-edge technology. You won't be sitting around designing database screens or maintaining legacy products. From the very start of your career you will be faced with the challenge of developing the very latest networking software.

The training is excellent. An initial induction course is followed by an assignment on a development project where you will work alongside one of our senior technical leads. You must be able to learn quickly and take responsibility for your tasks, but will be given tremendous support from the whole team. This approach allows you to develop at your own pace and creates career opportunities as soon as you can handle them - whether it be a senior technical role, customer support or project management.

Finally, think hard about the work environment that would suit you and help you to excel in your chosen career. Ensoft offers a relaxed and enjoyable office environment - perhaps the greatest success we have had is the friends we have all made within the company. Yes, we do work hard, but we really do enjoy our work.

Please read on, attend our recruitment presentations or get in touch to find out more about Ensoft. If you are interested in applying for a job and you think you are a suitable candidate, then please apply. We are not bureaucratic - you only need to send us a CV (or fill in our online application) and attend one interview session!

Read our Graduate Casebooks to see what some of our current employees have to say about the company.

So what do you need to apply to Ensoft?

  • You must want a career developing software - that's what we do and just like the major development labs in the US we reward innovation and technical excellence, rather than job titles and salesmen.
  • The barrier to entry is high, so you need a proven academic capability and must be taking a numerate degree at one of the UK's leading Universities. (Sorry, but don't apply unless you have A grades at A-level or equivalent, or good excuses!)
  • Some experience would help, but isn't essential. (It's great to find young graduates who have already spent their spare time developing applications and running computer systems).
  • Finally, you must be a social animal. We work closely in very hard working teams. The technical review process is rigorous and work is only accepted when the whole team understands the design and accepts it. You can't hide in an office writing amazing code and expect us to sell it and support it for our customers.
  • Oh, and by the way, we believe that we are creating an exceptional company, so you need a pride and passion for your work and should expect to work with us for many years.

So, if you want a job in 2009, you can apply now by sending your CV. We are interviewing at Oxford and Cambridge in the autumn term and you can have your first job arranged before you embark on those hours of study needed to get through finals.
